Discover how Indore is set to become India’s next big startup hub with a ₹1,500 crore startup-cum-IT park on the Super Corridor. Developed under the PPP model, this ambitious project aims to boost entrepreneurship and innovation.
Indore, the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, is set to witness a major transformation with the development of a state-of-the-art startup-cum-IT park on the city's Super Corridor. This ambitious project, estimated to cost ₹1,500 crore, will be developed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, a strategic move aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and IT-driven growth in the state.
At a time when India's startup ecosystem is booming, cities beyond the traditional hubs of Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Gurugram are making aggressive efforts to attract entrepreneurs, investors, and tech companies. With this initiative, Madhya Pradesh is making a strong pitch to position Indore as a significant player in the startup and IT ecosystem.
The Indore Development Authority (IDA) has given the green light for the project, which will feature a 22-storey business hub equipped with cutting-edge facilities to support the growth of startups and tech enterprises. According to Indore Division Commissioner (Revenue) Deepak Singh, the government will provide land to a private developer for constructing the building. The project now awaits final approval from the Madhya Pradesh state government.
This initiative aligns with the state's broader vision to attract investments, generate employment, and create a dynamic startup ecosystem that can compete with India's leading tech cities.
Indore has been quietly strengthening its position as an emerging startup hub. The city is already home to around 1,300 startups, and industry experts predict that another 500 new enterprises could take off in the near future.
Several factors contribute to Indore's growing startup culture:
✔ Strategic Location: As a centrally located city with excellent connectivity, Indore offers businesses the advantage of reaching both northern and southern markets efficiently.
✔ Ease of Doing Business:Madhya Pradesh has consistently improved its ease of doing business rankings, with Indore being at the forefront of reforms and digital governance.
✔ Educational Hub: With premier institutes like IIM Indore, IIT Indore, and DAVV, the city has a strong talent pool, making it an attractive destination for startups looking for skilled professionals.
✔ Government Support: The Madhya Pradesh government has been proactive in offering incentives, seed funding, and incubation support for startups through policies like the MP Startup Policy 2022.
The decision to develop the startup-cum-IT park under a PPP model is a strategic one. Instead of solely relying on government funding, the model leverages private sector efficiency, investment, and innovation, ensuring that the project is built and operated sustainably.
Several successful projects in India, including Bengaluru’s IT parks and Hyderabad’s HITEC City, have thrived under PPP models. Madhya Pradesh is now looking to replicate this success in Indore.
The proposed park will not only provide office space but will also house co-working spaces, incubation centers, research facilities, and networking zones, enabling startups to scale rapidly.
To bring in private investors and global stakeholders, the Madhya Pradesh government will showcase the startup-cum-IT park project during the upcoming 'Invest Madhya Pradesh' summit, scheduled to be held in Bhopal on February 24-25.
This high-profile event is expected to attract:
✅ Venture Capitalists & Angel Investors looking for promising startups in Tier-2 cities.
✅ Tech Giants & IT Companies scouting for new expansion opportunities.
✅ Government Officials & Policymakers to discuss startup-friendly policies.
✅ Startup Founders & Entrepreneurs eager to explore the Indore market.
The government hopes to secure substantial funding and collaborations to ensure that Indore’s startup ecosystem gets the necessary momentum.
In addition to the startup-cum-IT park, the Indore Development Authority (IDA) has approved another mega project – a ₹1,000 crore convention center, also to be built on the Super Corridor under the PPP model.
The proposed convention center aims to host large-scale business summits, tech conferences, and startup events, further reinforcing Indore’s role as a business and technology hub.
With these ambitious projects, Indore is making a strong statement – it wants to be counted among India’s top startup destinations. The startup-cum-IT park will not just be a building; it will be an ecosystem where ideas, technology, and business innovation converge.
For aspiring entrepreneurs and investors, this is the right time to look at Indore as the next big opportunity. Will the city successfully position itself as India’s next startup capital? The answer lies in how effectively the government executes its vision.
